Bridge Learning Center
Design process
This bridge concept is derived from the support system that Lakeline Station Learning Center will provide with the strength to a better future for the residents. The inspiration of a bridge represents the temptations and dangers of the street below compared to the robust community to reach for above. The trusses reflect the support that the building provides and gives a pathway to span the physical obstacles and the encouragement needed to cross over to a brighter future.
schematic design
This design provides the learning opportunities to cross over the bridge to a better life. The colors used incorporate the feeling of the community. The color orange offers emotional strength in difficult times. It helps us bounce back from the disappointments and despair, assisting in recovery from grief. The color yellow is uplifting and illuminating. It is the best color to create enthusiasm for life and can awaken greater confidence and optimism. The color green reflects growth and rebirth. It is the sanctuary away from stresses of life.
Design development
This layout was created to reflect a bridge with a continuous corridor with a curvilinear shape extended from the main entry to exit while providing the support system as angular spaces below the bridge. To allow for flexibility with the various needs of the community by creating an open, interactive floor plan all while having the security and privacy when appropriate. The perspectives were completed in Revit to showcase the inspired concept.
